How to pick which app the chat came from
You will know how to set the chat app, and what changes when you do.
What you need
- ✓TextPort on your iPhone
The app you pick sets which import ways you see, and which app TextPort opens for you. It takes two taps.
Steps

Tap Add Chat
Open TextPort. Tap Add Chat at the bottom.

Tap the app name at the top
The sheet shows an app name with a small arrow. Tap it.

Pick the app
A list opens. Tap the app the chat is in, like Messages (1) or WhatsApp (2). Type in Search apps to find one fast. Not in the list? Scroll to the end and tap Other.

Check the import ways
The sheet now shows only the ways that work for that app. Pick one.
Done
TextPort knows the app. You see the right import ways, and TextPort can open that app for you during Scroll Capture.

TextPort remembers your last choice. Next time it is already set.

Picked the wrong app? Tap the app name again before you import.

Two things. The import ways change: Messages shows Import with Scroll Capture and Import from Messages, WhatsApp shows Import from WhatsApp, and every other app shows On Your iPhone. And during Scroll Capture, the Open button opens that app for you. It does not change bubble colors.

Search for it. If it is still missing, tap Other at the end of the list. Scroll Capture reads the text the same way for every app.
